Launched on 7th August 2026, the Faith Leaders’ Guide to Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism equips religious leaders across Kenya’s faith traditions with practical, scripture-referenced guidance for community-level prevention work. Developed by IRCK theologians and technical experts in partnership with the National Counter Terrorism Centre, the Guide focuses on four pillars: community awareness, prevention, early warning, and early response.
It grounds each faith leader’s role in reducing community vulnerabilities, strengthening protective factors, and supporting timely, appropriate response to radicalisation. The Guide directly supports implementation of Kenya’s National Strategy for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (NSPCVE) 2025–2030, anchoring national policy in the trusted voice of the pulpit, mosque and temple.
