The Consultation Forum on ‘Empowering Women Ulama; KUPI’s Role in Shaping Inclusive Religious Discourse’ is facilitating an exchange in experiences and knowledge between women ulama in Indonesia and Kenya.
It is focusing on positive development of women’s rights in a muslim society, new challenges in addressing gender equality and justice, and promoting women friendly religious interpretation in muslim society.
It will also explore and reflect on KUPI’s methodology of religious interpretation, which emphasizes women’s experiences and knowledge as the foundation, with a focus on its application in the Kenyan and African context.
This is 2-day forum is a collaboration between Inter-Religious Council of Kenya, The Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN) Indonesia, African Council of Religious Leaders, Africa Women of Faith Network, Indonesia Women Ulama Congress (KUPI), Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action – KE and Mensen met een Missie
