The Inter-Religious Council of Kenya in partnership with the Organization of African Instituted Churches Organization of African Instituted Churches held a strategic Pre-COP29 dialogue to explore climate adaptation financing and develop a unified position ahead of #COP29.
Ahead of #COP29:
– African faith leaders, commit to amplifying this call for adaptation-centred, debt-free, and just climate finance. We urge global leaders to heed the pleas of Africa’s communities for justice in climate action, and we stand ready to support this mission.
-Our faith communities are prepared to lead with courage and compassion, advocating for climate solutions that uphold the principles of equity, sustainability, and human dignity.
– We also call for government accountability to its citizens, recognizing that transparency and responsiveness are vital to fostering trust and ensuring effective climate action.
Together, we must forge a path that honours creation, safeguards our shared future, and demands justice for our communities.
