Inter-Religious Council of Kenya in collaboration with Global Freedom Network (GFN) held a 2-day workshop on eradicating modern slavery in the country. Faith leaders from the most affected counties attended the forum.
The #EndingModernSlaveryKE workshop addressed faith leaders’ advocacy roles in using interfaith dialogue and different platforms including congregational platforms to tackle modern slavery in their respective counties.
The Council is also developing guidelines on how to conduct advocacy on child/forced marriage including clear policy gaps, the role of campaigns, social and traditional media, making submissions to the government and the role of international advocacy.
