POKOT celebrating first UN toilet day in Style
The first UN toilet day was marked on 19th November 2013. In West, North, Central and part of East Pokot in Pokot county, Dini ya Roho Mafuta pole ya Africa, a movement which is a member of African Instituted churches celebrated the day with humor of toilets, pooping and some deadly serious facts and figures that makes it obvious why 100 countries – from Afghanistan to Vietnam- came together early last year to pass a resolution that enshrined an official UN World Toilet Day.

Inter-Religious Council of Kenya Advocates For Child Immunization among Resisting Faiths in Nyanza.
Am Mr. Charles Oketch, Migori District Health Promotion officer and during the first round of polio campaigns there was a lot of resistance from these groups and that time we used provincial administration who coerced and threatened the resisting people that if they do not allow their children to be vaccinated, they will  be arrested.

The cradle of Skul Sakale Zion Health Department

Dini ya Roho Mafuta Pole ya Africa is a Christian community found in Pokot and the neighboring counties as well as in Eastern part of Uganda. This church started around 1950s by a local Pokot. The Church organization structure has three levels; the Jerusalem, which is the highest level of the church at the top, The Zion as the regional headquarters or diocese in charge of between 10-25 congregations/Bomas and the Boma representing the individual congregation as the lowest unit.

ISIOLO WOMEN OF FAITH CALM INTERFAITH TENSIONS

In February this year, Muslim students held a youth rally where they initiated a fundraising to put up a more permanent prayer structure, only for it to be brought down, which triggered the reactions. Various stakeholders quickly intervened and averted what could have been a bloody clash between the two faiths, Christians and Muslims.
